As we sailed into Colon in November 2019. I saw the tiny-looking dock and wondered how our huge ship was going to fit.
The ship’s ropes were lowered to a dock worker in the little boat below.

Partial Transit on NCL Joy
Our ship is too large to go through the original locks of the Panama canal; therefore, we get to experience the new locks which were built to accommodate the larger ships being constructed today. We are scheduled to begin entrance to the new locks on the Panama Canal at 5:00 AM. Here we are waiting outside the locks awaiting our turn – long before the sun comes up.
As a typical tourist, I awoke early to claim my viewing spot.

Whew! 2020 and 2021 definitely created new adventures – but not necessarily the ones we had planned.
But now I am ready to go, go, go!
Bobble-head Shirley (and the real Shirley) are ready for some new Journeys.
For the first year of the shutdown, my biggest adventures were donning my mask and going to the grocery – trying to find items that were out of stock and to working hard to avoid covid cooties!
