We stopped at the port of Rostock which is actually about 3 hours away from Berlin. Our excursion was with TJ Travel. Evidently they contract with another company for pickup at the pier. Someone was holding a sign with TJ travel as well as other names, and she led us all to the same motor coach. This coach dropped off two people for a personal guided tour of one of the concentration camps and was scheduled to drop off another couple and their luggage in the city. We took an excursion sponsored by Oceania at Gdansk: “Historic Gdansk and Oliwa.” Ship excursions are so easy. Book them, and show up! No intense planning and researching. It is by far the easiest way to see a port though not usually the least expensive; however, there is the added security of knowing that the ship will not leave any passengers that are on a ship’s sponsored excursion.
