Cozumel is an island off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. With the recent scares and warnings about traveling to Mexico, I’ve had folks ask me about the safety of coming here. As of the date of this posting, there are no warnings from the US Dept. of State regarding Cozumel or the Yucatan peninsula. We have always felt safe here, but as always, no matter where you are, be aware of your surroundings. Stay in the common areas. Travel in pairs at the least and better yet, groups. The locals are friendly and a little more vocal in Grenada while trying to eek out a living from tourists than they were in Bonaire. Our ship docked at a new pier – well, new to them.
The old one was blown away by hurricane Ivan in 2004. Two ships can dock at the new one, and if there are four ships in town, the old repaired port is used. Continue reading “Grenada”
