The Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is located less than one mile from Denali National Park. Our Princess cruisetour included one night here.
The lodge includes many buildings: some with interior corridors and some with exterior corridors. Our group stayed in Building A. (with interior corridors)
It is the farthest from the main buildings, but there is a beautiful walking path along the banks of the Nenana River, and they have a shuttle that runs frequently among the buildings.
We ate a late lunch at King Salmon Restaurant. I especially enjoyed the seafood macaroni and cheese.
There is a strip of businesses and eateries across the street. We strolled the walkways and purchased a few souvenirs and snacks. This is a view of our lodge from the far end of the local shopping area.
We booked a 4 x 4 excursion for this evening to view the scenery of Denali
The next morning, we enjoyed coffee and baked goods at the Rapids Morning Express conveniently located in the building next to our room. The view during breakfast:
From here we take a brief motorcoach ride to the train station. Ready to board Princess’ Glass-domed rail cars on the Alaska Railway.
