El Dorado Casitas Royale Day 2

We woke early and used our beach towels to reserve a canopy and two lounge chairs at the beach. Israel is our beach butler.  He procured a regular chair for hubby, extra towels, and kept us supplied with ice cold drinks. Non-alcoholic por favor.

Employees here look at us like we have spaghetti growing out of our ears when we tell them that we don’t drink alcohol. What? You want Coca-Cola?  No beer? Not tequila?  How will you celebrate hubby’s birthday without alcohol?

But the bartender at our pool has created some delicious fruity drinks for us, Israel went looking for iced tea for me, and the health bar has wonderful smoothies. We have been asked why we came to an all-inclusive if we don’t drink. I’ll give you seven reasons.

1. Beautiful grounds. The grounds crew work diligently to keep the beach and grounds pristine.

They rake up the seaweed daily and use it for compost at the greenhouse.

2. Over-the-top-service. From concierge to beach butler to room service to bellboys to housekeeping make up and turn down service, and on and on.  And everyone says, “hola” as they pass.

3. Fifteen gourmet restaurants – and we plan to enjoy every one.

4. Scheduled Activities: Ranch tour, greenhouse tour, Spanish lessons, cooking classes, air rifle, and more.

5. Nightly entertainment including traditional Mexican dancers, live bands, movies, and even a circus.

6. Golf cart shuttle stops all around the property.

7. For an incredible experience.

I believe there are some guests whose primary goal is to consume as much alcohol as possible to, “get their money’s worth” while they are here.   They appear to be having a good time laughing twice as loud as anyone else in public places and trying to outdo each other with crude discussions peppered with enough profanity to make a sailor blush. (Sorry for the stereotype.  I know some very nice Navy personnel.)

Many guests understand self-control.  I enjoy being around those folks so much more.

Today’s meals:

Lunch: Pailla (pronounced pi a  jha , I think) made poolside

Dinner: Rincon Mexicano – Hubby had brisket and I had a tostada and some perfectly prepared salmon.

By the way, they fixed the hot water. And an outdoor shower is AMAZING!
