Fremantle, Australia

Fremantle is the nearest cruise port city to Perth, Australia.  We debarked our Royal Caribbean ship in Fremantle, spent some time in Perth and the interior of Australia, and then returned to embark our Celebrity ship for the final leg of our Australia/New Zealand adventure.

When we entered the cruise terminal, we were told that we would not be allowed to go back into Fremantle once we complete the embarkation process.  We could drop off our checked bags, but we would have to keep our carry-on items with us. Bummer.  I really wanted to spend a couple of hours walking around this cute little town, but we chose to forego seeing much of Fremantle.  I really did not want to haul around my laptop, and shipboard gelato was calling my name.

I think that may be an Australian immigration rule.  The same policy applied in Sydney, too, but that did not bother us since we had spent a few days in Sydney pre-cruise anyway.

Embarkation went smoothly and quickly, and soon we were heading up these ramps into the Celebrity Solstice.

From our balcony, I took a visual tour of Fremantle. The only tour available to me at this time.

The Fremantle train station is nearby and the tracks run directly in front of the cruise terminal.

Sailing away.  So long, Fremantle.  It was nice seeing you…………….
