Perth, Australia

Perth is the largest city near the port of Fremantle in Australia.  We exit the Royal Caribbean Radiance of the Seas in Fremantle and spend one night at the Holiday Inn Perth City Center.  The staff is friendly and helpful.

They store our bags while we go across the street to Mad Max Mexican Grill.  Laundry facilities are available, so I take our bags into the small laundry room and wash the first three weeks worth of clothes that we used.  With only two small washers and dryers, and no air conditioning in the laundry area,  I spend a lot of time sweating (or should I say “glistening”)  while babysitting my laundry. One little window overlooks the rooftop, so I stand in front of it to catch any possible breeze, or I exit the laundry room to sit in the much-cooler stairwell.  Laundry done – Ahh.

For dinner we go to Simple Italian Cucina Pizzaria for an amazing meal. Hubby does great job researching restaurants and finding this place.  Since the wood-fired pizza and chicken parmesan both look appealing, we order both and then vow we will never be hungry again.

The next day, we take an flight to Alice Springs to see the Kangaroo Sanctuary and to take a day tour to Ayers Rock.

We fly back to Perth for one more night then taxi to Fremantle to board the Celebrity Solstice for the second leg of our Australia/New Zealand Journey.
