The Valley of Elah is the site where David fought Goliath as recorded in I Samuel 17. There are hills on both sides of this valley. Our guide was kind to indulge our bunch of crazy folks who wanted to search the area for 5 smooth stones to carry back as souvenirs. I asked him if groups always want to get out and go rock collecting. He said, “Yes, and the city brings rocks to replenish the supply.” I think he was joking, but maybe not!
